Water Department

The Rock Falls Water Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water service for residents of the City of Rock Falls and the Iron Removal Facility located just South of Dillon School. We are licensed by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to protect the public health and the environment with our services.

The Rock Falls Water Department production system consists of three shallow wells, three pressure iron removal tanks, and two elevated towers. There are approximately 68 miles of water main, 400 Fire Hydrants, and 4,000 water services from the water main to the service boxes at or near the property line.
All of the Water Department employees are qualified licensed IEPA water operators.

National League of Cities — Service Line Warranty Program

The NLC Service Line Warranty Program, administered by Utility Service Partners, helps city residents save thousands of dollars on the high cost of repairing broken or leaking water or sewer lines. This program is offered to the residents of Rock Falls and is endorsed by the National League of Cities.
